My Suburban Dopamine Menu
What I'm loving, watching & cooking out here in the 'burbs. Plus Glamour, Southern Living, U.S. News & World Report, HuffPost, & more need sources!
I am so excited to ramp up my Thursday lifestyle series, where I share whatever is inspiring me lately in the home lifestyle space. 🏡
Speaking of… TikTok is a platform that’s really doing it for me these days, so let’s please not ban it, ok? Ok, cool. But I just can’t quite find the time and consistency to post all the ideas I have in my brain (& on my notes app). Am I right? But I did manage to post this video about a new series I’m starting that’s all about romanticizing my life, even though I’m severely uninspired by my new surroundings.
Anyway, the weekend is basically here. And I’m (where else?) home prepping for my bachelorette next week in NOLA, so looking forward to winding down a bit beforehand. Head over to my personal Instagram (@justinedaddio) to follow along in real time on stories.
😎THIS WEEKEND’S ITINERARY (in the ‘burbs):
Friday:

What I’m doing: a Pilates by Izzy home workout in my upstairs “Zen Den” (a home project for another month) followed by a good old-fashioned afternoon of suburban retail therapy (specifically Target, Home Goods & Ulta), grabbing some much-needed home items and last-minute bachelorette stuff.
What I’m watching: Catching up on Severance (Apple TV) and The White Lotus (Max) - like everyone and their mother.
What I’m cooking: Most definitely a steak, which seems to be a Friday tradition at this point. Anyone else crave red meat at least once a week? I make a mean chili garlic noodle bowl with sliced filet, a fried egg & typically bok choy (in the above case broccolini), along with these almond butter cookies for a dessert.
Saturday:

What I’m doing: Getting out in nature. We live on a golf course & while I’m no golf pro, it’s nice getting outdoors and learning something new. So whether it’s golf, pickleball, or just taking a walk (weather permitting), I try to dedicate Saturday or Sunday to that.
What I’m watching: I can’t believe I’ve become someone who can’t finish a long movie in an entire sitting, but I’m only halfway through The Brutalist (& loving it). I’m truly shocked by my lack of stamina or ability to keep my eyes open past 9:30 pm these days, but… it is what it is. I’m looking forward to finally finishing!
What I’m cooking: Finally getting the urge to go out to eat for once. There’s a cute brunch spot here that makes you feel like you’ve been transported to a cafe in France. Order in for dinner (maybe Mexican?). I’ve been averaging one night per week for takeout.
Sunday:

What I’m doing: Taking a drive to Costco & Whole Foods (basically Disney for those of us in our 30s), posting a weekly YouTube vlog, packing for my bachelorette & prepping for Oscar night at home.
What I’m watching: The Oscars (ABC & streaming on Hulu, YouTube TV, At&T TV & FuboTV). This is easily my Superbowl Sunday, and I really like to romanticize it every year.
What I’m cooking: Oscar supplies include popcorn, a cheese board & maybe even some champagne. Dinner will be an attempt at homemade Chinese food.

I’m SO late to the game with heatless curls. It took me forever to pull the trigger to (1) buy a heatless curler set & (2) actually attempt it before bed. But when I say this is truly a lazy girl hack for the books, it really is.
Working in PR is a very timely and time-consuming job. Running my own business, I have to look decent for client meetings, but I don’t always have the time to do so. This $16 Kitsch Satin Hatless Hair Curler set gives me volume I never knew I needed, and I haven’t even had to touch my typical heat tools in the morning. I use two small Dry Bar rollers for my bangs, split my hair down the middle, wrap it around the roller on each side, secure the ends with the hair ties, and call it a night.

Heatless curls are aaamazing! Though I find after sleeping on it, I'll get some weird kinks in my hair (eventually they fall by end of day). Any products or tips (a bonnet, hair cream, etc)?
